What is Faith Based Mediation?

It is a way for parties who have a dispute they can not resolve to seek the assistance of a natural third party, which like themselves believes and trust God in reaching a resolution of their dispute.  The mediation is based on the party’s faith and willingness to seek Gods guidance, wisdom and peace during the entire mediation process.  Faith Based Mediation can only be entered into and used if all of the parties agree to it.

Ø    Does the Faith Based Mediator make any decisions for us?

NO, God wants the parties to decide what is best for themselves and their loved ones.   The Faith Based Mediator is there to facilitate and assist the parties, and to moderate the process of the mediation.

Why should I want Reconciliation?

Because it is what God wants you to do and knows is best for you.   Mediation can be very emotional and painful, but it can also let you forgive others and proceed forward with your life without anger, hatred, or a desire for revenge.  Instead, you can choose to continue on in your life with Forgivness, Peace and Love.  For what good really comes out of reaching an agreement of your dispute, if YOU do not also begin the healing process of forgiveness and reconciliation?  Let God take what the world may tell you are sour lemons and turn them into sweet lemonade.

Do I have to belong to a church or believe in God to participate in Faith Based Mediation?

Faith Based Mediation is for all dominations that believe in God.  Even those who say they do not believe in God may be welcome because God works in mysterious ways.   However, all parties have to agree they will seek to open their hearts and soul during the mediation and to agree to show respect and courtesy to each other.

Do I need an attorney?

Yes, the Faith Based Mediator is an attorney but cannot advise you of your legal rights and obligations.  You need to be able to make informed decisions and be able to reach a final binding agreement that an attorney can prepare a Judgment, Decree or Order to be presented to the Court or a written Agreement that all of the parties to the mediation will sign.

What happens in we are unable to reach a settlement agreement?

If you have a lawsuit pending in a court the Faith Based Mediator will send a letter to the court advising the Judge that the parties were unable to reach a mutually acceptable resolution of their dispute at this time.   The parties are not always able to reach an agreement during the mediation but they are able to latter reach an agreement as a result of their communications during the mediation and prayer.  If the parties are unable to reach a mutually acceptable agreement prior to trial that does not mean either party or all of the parties did not follow the will of God but instead keep your faith that everything will work out for the best for those who trust in the Lord.
